MMFL – CODE of CONDUCT

 

 Players:

Ø  “HONOR THE GAME” of Football.

Ø  Display good sportsmanship at all times on and off the field.

Ø  Respect yourself, your teammates, coaches, referees and opponents at all times - even when others do not.  Referees are not perfect, so what, no one is, and they do the best they can.

Ø  Give 100% effort at each practice and game.

Ø  Support and encourage your teammates.  The best players make those around them better!

Ø  Know the rules of the MMFL division you are a part of and abide by them.

Ø  Wear the required equipment at all games and practices, and keep your equipment well maintained, with your name attached.

Ø  Don't be afraid to make a mistake; that is part of learning.

Ø  Be modest in victory and gracious in defeat.

Ø  Obscene language or gestures will not be tolerated.

Ø  Have Fun! 

 

 Coaches:

Ø  “HONOR THE GAME” of football.

Ø  Teach and practice good sportsmanship at all games and practices.  Always err on the side of safety first.

Ø  A coach is a role model, who must act with the highest moral character possible.

Ø  Coaches must reinforce the self image of each player.

Ø  Respect the game of football.  Respect the officials.

Ø  Teach the rules of football.  Abide by those rules in practices and games.

Ø  Establish objectives for the team and players and inform them of team and individual goals.

Ø  Emphasize the FUN of the game and the team, putting forth effort at all times, not wins and losses. 

Ø  Be modest in victory and gracious in defeat.

Ø  Obscene language or gestures will not be tolerated.

Ø  Keep your parents in line with this Code.

Ø  Do not ever physically engage any player, official, coach or spectator in a threatening or retaliatory manner

 

Parents:

Ø  Know the rules of the game of football.

Ø  Respect the game of football.  Respect the officials.  Respect the coaches, who give their time for the benefit of the children.

Ø  Do not coach your child.  Let players play and coaches coach, and support both positively.

Ø  Emphasize the FUN of the game and the team, putting forth effort at all times, not wins and losses.  

Ø  Do not EVER criticize players regardless of the circumstance.

Ø  Follow the "24 Hour Rule"; if you have a complaint resulting from a game (or practice) situation, speak with the coach, an administrator or a Board member on the following day.

Ø  If there is a serious problem, notify the MMFL officials.

Ø  Do not EVER physically engage officials, parents, players in a threatening or retaliatory manner

Ø  Be prompt for pick ups and drop offs, all our coaches are volunteering their time, please respect that.

 

All:

Ø  Any conduct, including abusive language and/or gestures, hitting, racially insensitive remarks, damage to property or belongings, or any other conduct that reflects poorly on yourself or MMFL is deemed to be unacceptable and will not be tolerated.  This rule applies to all players, parents, coaches, siblings and guests at all times when in or around games or practices as a member of MMFL.

 

I hereby agree that if I fail to conform my conduct to the foregoing while attending, coaching, officiating or participating in a MMFL sports event I will be subject to disciplinary action, including but not limited to the following in any order or combination:

 

Ø  Verbal warning issued by a league or organization official.

Ø  Written warning issued by a league or organization official.

Ø  Suspension or immediate ejection from a MMFL sports event issued by a league or organization official who is authorized to issue such suspension or ejection by the MMFL Board of Directors.

Ø  Suspension from multiple MMFL sports events issued by a league or organization official who is authorized to issue such suspension by the MMFL Board of Directors

Ø  Season suspension or multiple season suspension issued by the MMFL Board of Directors.
